7th International Business Awards Announces Honorees From Across the Globe

Organizations and individuals from 28 nations, including first-time winners Israel, Kenya, and the Philippines, have been announced as Stevie® Award winners in The 7th International Business Awards, the world's only international, all-encompassing business awards program.

IstanbulThe awards will be presented at a gala banquet ceremony on Monday, September 27 at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Istanbul, Turkey. Tickets for the banquet are on sale now at www.stevieawards.com/iba

Winning 32 Stevie Awards this year, organizations and individuals in the United States made the best showing. South Korea, last year's big winner, came in second with 22 Stevies. Host nation Turkey earned 13 Stevies, while the United Kingdom won 12. Canada and the United Arab Emirates follow with six and five, respectively.

Some notable winners include:

  • Multinational Company of the Year in Europe: BASF
  • Executive of the Year in Asia (China, Japan or Korea): J.T. Wang, Chairman and CEO, Acer Incorporated
  • CSR Program of the Year in the Middle East and Africa: Mercedes-Benz South Africa
  • Most Innovative Company of the Year in North America: Equipois Inc.

Honorees were selected from more than 1,700 entries received from organizations and individuals in more than 40 nations. 

All organizations worldwide are eligible to compete in The International Business Awards, and can nominate in any of more than 40 categories including Best New Product or Service of the Year, Single-Market Company of the Year, Environmental Responsibility Program of the Year, and Marketing Campaign of the Year. The IBAs also feature a media section with many categories honoring advertising campaigns, web sites, videos, and corporate literature such as annual reports.

Members of the awards' Board of Distinguished Judges & Advisors and their staffs selected the Stevie Award winners during final judging last month, which was preceded by two months of preliminary judging by business professionals worldwide.

Disasters in Guatemala and other places—because Nu Skin is helping a lot of people, but there is always more need.

What book are you currently reading?
I’m about to start Mitt Romney’s book No Apology, because he is my friend.

What was the last movie you saw, and would you recommend it?
Sherlock Holmes. I liked it.

What is your favorite sport or hobby?

  1. Family (kids…) 
  2. Wake surfing 
  3. Snow skiing 
  4. Scuba diving

Who is your favorite historical figure?
Abraham Lincoln.

Who is your favorite living person?
My wife.

If you could choose another profession, what would it be?
Charity consultant.

What quality or qualities do you most value in your business associates?
Kindness, honesty, goodness, the ability to solve problems, and a sense of fun.

As someone at the top of your profession, what keeps you inspired or makes you hit the ground running in the morning?
Helping others.

What do you consider has been your greatest achievement in business?
My family still likes me.

What advice or useful tip would you give to someone who is just starting out in business?
Match your career with your values.  Never give up.  Stay on task.
